OJ BLAQ — Education at BlueCrest College has made me sober and observant
OJ Blaq has seen it all.
He knows what it is like to be famous and successful as a hiplife artiste, and he has seen life without all that glamour. After leading a lifestyle fuelled by marijuana and alcohol that nearly took him to his grave, the ‘Chalewote’ hitmaker took to religion and now uses his talent to create gospel music.
To power his new approach to life, he decided to complete his education. OJ Blaq is studying to get his undergraduate degree in Mass Communication at the BlueCrest School of Business & Communication.
On his experience as a student, he says the multi-cultural campus has made him more tolerant.
“Education at Bluecrest college is very interesting, and it means a lot to me. I will graduate with a lot of knowledge. I have learnt a lot of things here, especially about different cultures and lifestyles because there are people from about 25 different countries in the school. I have become sober and observant here. I have learnt that it is good to observe before you act.”
He is going to specialise in Public Relations and has a piece of advice for his young classmates.
“My advice to young students is to focus on their studies and make good use of any opportunities that the school offers them. I would also tell them to learn positive things from other students and not the negative. “
