BLUECREST HOLDS 22ND MATRICULATION CEREMONY

On the 29th of October 2021, BlueCrest University College held its 22ND Matriculation ceremony to officially induct new students into our academic community. The event was graced by the Rector and President of the institution, Dr. Anand Agrawal, alumni, members of staff and the freshmen who were clad in their beautiful attires. We were also privileged to have renowned Journalist, Business Fixer, Global Speaker, Communications Expert and Board Member of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) madam Odealia Ntiamoah, as our guest speaker for the occasion.

The event commenced with the opening prayer and welcome address offered by members of staff. This was followed by an address by the Rector, who expressed his excitement in seeing the freshmen of the college. He emphasized the value placed on our motto, “Education for Life”, and how important student engagement is to us. He went ahead to sort for the views of the students on how they can be successful as students of BlueCrest, and it was thrilling to see the students share their thoughts on this. The Rector advised the students not to limit themselves to just their classroom learning and their fields of study. He encouraged them to participate in college activities, build a strong network and be active in the college.

This was followed by an address by madam Odelia Ntiamoah, who is currently the head of the Business Programming Unit of the largest private media establishment in Ghana, Multimedia Group Limited. Ms. Odelia shared how her journalism journey started, from her days in university, to where she is now. She advised the students to be conscious of their environment and take advantage of every opportunity that comes their way. Just like she refused to limit herself to just her area of study while in the university which had nothing to do with journalism, she encouraged the freshmen to go out of their comfort zones, explore other worlds and get a broad scope of knowledge to excel anywhere. Ms. Odelia also encouraged the students to constantly improve their skills. As a strong advocate of women empowerment, she encouraged the young ladies to create opportunities for themselves, and also to not shy away from major roles that are perceived to be male dominated.

Mr. Eric Hanson, the Registrar of the college, took the freshers through the Matriculation Oath, to be officially inducted as members of our academic community. He expressed his hope in seeing the students being active and engaging in school activities. He congratulated them and wished them all the best.

Ms. Favour Peters, served as a representative of the matriculants to present the Matriculates Speech. She welcomed her peers and congratulated them on gaining admission to one of the best universities in Africa. She encouraged them to strive for excellence in their studies, and to always remember why they are here in the first place. She advised them to strike a balance between their studies, extracurricular activities and social lives, and achieve their goals for coming here.

The final speech was delivered by an alumnus of the BlueCrest School of Technology, Mr. Rexford Nyarko, who was also the Valedictorian of his year group. Rexord shared his BlueCrest journey with the freshmen, and also the initiatives that were started by his year group, to make the institution a better one. He encouraged the students to explore various opportunities, ask questions and contribute in every way they can, to make the institution a better one.

Our matriculation ceremony came to an end with the students taking pictures to cement this historic moment in the school and their lives.

Congratulations to all students on making it into Ghana’s Premium Educational Centre, and we hope that your stay here will be a step to higher heights.
