BREATHING YOUR WAY TO FITNESS: THE SECRETS OF HYPOXIC TRAINING

BREATHING YOUR WAY TO FITNESS: THE SECRETS OF HYPOXIC TRAINING

Dr.Vivekananth Padmanabhan|HOD-IT|Fitness Trainer|Certified Oxygen Advantage Instructor(UK)

Imagine walking on a road on top of a mountain. How do you feel?

Most of us feel energetic, less fatigued, and have clarity of mind and a more optimistic outlook.

Why does a mountain create that impact?

The answer to the question is “hypoxic effect”. What is the hypoxic effect?

The hypoxic effect involves subjecting yourself to reduced oxygen and increased carbon dioxide. Now you have the answer to the reasons for the positive effects of being at the top of a mountain (high altitude).

The high altitude creates the positive effect of hypoxia; that’s the reason you feel more energetic, vibrant, and less fatigued in the mountains.

Is it possible to create the same “hypoxic effect” at our home, as if you are on top of a mountain like the Himalayas?

Can you “bring the mountain to your home?”

Yes, you can! interesting?

The answer is “Hypoxic training“.

Oxygen Advantage is a type of hypoxic training created by Patrick McKeown in Ireland. The training consists of light breathing and high-altitude training.

“BOLT,” what is that?

BOLT stands for Body Oxygen Level Test (BOLT) to determine how efficiently your body uses oxygen. BOLT is also a measure of your capacity to withstand reduced oxygen and increased carbon dioxide (remember high altitude/mountain). The higher the BOLT score, the higher the oxygen-carrying capacity and tolerance to higher carbon dioxide are needed for endurance, energy, and athletic performance.

Oxygen Advantage uses light breathing exercises and simulation of high-altitude training, a technique used by Navy SEALs and professional athletes to improve BOLT scores, increase endurance, weight loss, and vital red blood cells to dramatically improve cardio fitness.

Imagine an athlete and an ordinary person who does not exercise by climbing stairs. Who will be breathing light, and who will be gasping for breath?

Yes, it is an athlete breathing light and an ordinary person gasping for breath. Why?

The answer is “hyperventilation. “It is breathing fast, shallow, and breathing more oxygen than you normally do.

Hyperventilation is the reason for most of our modern-day problems, such as headaches, gastric problems, anxiety, less concentration, and sleep apnea.

What is the solution for hyperventilation?

The answer is again “light breathing”.

Benefits of right breathing:

Improved sleep and energy

Increased concentration

Reduced breathlessness during exercise

Heightened athletic performance

Improved cardiovascular health

The right breathing techniques (light breathing, high-altitude training) are the missing link in most fitness programs, and by incorporating the right breathing techniques, the effects of exercises are optimized and immediate.

Are you ready to leverage the hypoxic effect to skyrocket your fitness?

This will be life-changing.
