Want one?

Please visit the TLC of BlueCrest College website available athttps://bluecrest.edu.gh/tlc.php and presto, you are on your own highway to your career transformation!

What does an ETB @ TLC certificate allow you to do?

Well, practically anything and everything related to effective teaching and learning so long as you stay on an ethical path.

Let us begin from home, for, “Charity begins at home but should not end there”.

At BlueCrest College, Ghana, at least 60 full time and part-time lecturers would have lost their jobs due to the novel Coronavirus pandemic, but the ETB @ TLC training programme turned their lives back on course — 180 degrees.

And as you know the fallouts of the pandemic are a global phenomenon; we are all not out of the woods yet, but some have made strategic U-turns.

On 23 June 2020 Suzie Bearne, Technology of Business Reporter for the BBC, wrote on bbc.com the story of London-based Lucy Gough who “decided to pivot her business and create an online interior styling course after teaching a similar course at London design school, Central Saint Martins”.

Gough, like you, had always had the passion for going online, but the pandemic forced her to leapfrog online technologies and land firmly into this fourth industrial revolution and see her passive income skyrocket from practically nothing.

“Even though I’d wanted to create a course for the last year it wasn’t until the lockdown was confirmed and all my income evaporated that I started creating it,” Gough was quoted as saying.

The BBC story highlighted the importance of using online platforms to sell yourself to a virgin market, while at the same time warning about fake online courses.

It also narrated the perspective of “Jonathan Little, 26, a content outreach executive living in Crewe” who struggled to cancel an online programme and get his money back.

At BlueCrest College, Accra, you are assured that you will have an evidence-based approach to checking all the right boxes.

Why ETB @ TLC?

One, BlueCrest College is accredited by Ghana’s National Accreditation Board and has affiliations and collaborations with a number of reputable educational and industrial organizations including University of Education, Winneba, Ghana; University of Sunderland, UK; NIIT Ghana; Google; Oracle; Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET), Ghana; and hence prides itself in a solid reputation and public relations strategy which thrives on the highest performance standards and mutual respect.

Two, BlueCrest College, Accra, is opening its doors to get more people trained not just for the teaching profession but in whatever career they are pursuing in order specifically to keep the people of Ghana and Africa working, and open opportunities for those with a passion for entrepreneurship; this latter group need to attain professional standards in online content production for the blue ocean out there waiting for them.

And three, to help sister educational institutions get back on their feet.

“Though the ETB @ TLC programme designed for BlueCrest staff only seemed a bit stressful for faculty members, as active teaching and learning run simultaneously, most of them were able to directly implement experiential learning in their respective online engagements with students,” said Anita Bans-Akutey, Head of the TLC, as she explained the differences between in-person training on one hand and the online and blended training programme for faculty members on the other.

ETB assesses participants on various modules including flipped classrooms and provides evidence that concepts taught have been practiced.

Bans-Akutey then announced: “The Teaching and Learning Centre is ready to design tailor-made training programs for educational and other institutions”.

So there you have it: no one promises it will be easy, but rest assured from the 60 and counting certificate holders who are proudly displaying their certificates on their social media handles that it is worth it.
