BlueCrest University College, Ghana Education Service Sign MOU

BlueCrest University College, one of the leading tertiary training institution in Ghana, and the Regional Office of Ghana Education Service in Accra have jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote corporate social responsibility.

At the signing ceremony in Accra, the Rector of BlueCrest University College, Dr. Anand Agrawal, expressed the readiness of the college to partner key government institutions to promote a broad-based education at the local, regional and national levels. He stated that ‘the university has the vision of becoming the leader in the market and partnerships and support from key agencies like the Ghana Education Service (GES) is in the right direction towards the realization of the institution’s goals’.

The MOU, among other things, will offer fully-funded scholarships to the staff of the regional education office in Accra in selected certificate programmes such as Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence and Security Intelligence Engineering. The College will also partner the regional education of GES in the new National Quiz in Information Technology for Senior High School students expected to commence later this year.

Mr. Sujith Jayaprakash, Director of Outreach and Collaborations thanked the GES for their support and commitment in seeing to the expansion of education in the country over the years since its establishment. ‘Sharing in your experiences as a nationally mandated office to oversee the implementation of educational policies is something as an institution we relish and proud to forge a partnership as we strive to achieve excellence and become the preferred place of learning within and beyond the frontiers of this country’, he noted.

Also present at the signing included Monica Ankrah, Regional Director of Education, GES; Edna Asante, Registrar, BlueCrest University College and Ellis August, Legal Officer, GES.

Sponsorship

The BlueCrest College has over the past years, offered scholarships to students and other corporate bodies to pursue different programmes in the College. Needy but brilliant students are also offered varying levels of sponsorships including a 100% waiver on tuition.

As part of its commitment to giving access to many students to champion their career dreams, the college through its National Competitive Exams also awards scholarships to secondary school graduates who register to pursue various degree programmes in the College.

Programmes

The College presently runs various Degree, Diploma and Professional Certificate courses in Fashion and Design, Business Administration, Mass Communication and Journalism, and Information Technology.

With a population of over 1000 students from across the sub-region, all the courses are tailor-made to meet the needs of the students and with LITE (Leadership, Innovation, Technology, And Entrepreneurship) approach to learning, students are adequately prepared for the job market and eventually become the sought after in industry.
