Orientation Day for COTVET students at the BlueCrest auditorium

BlueCrest College has partnered with the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET) to offer vocational and skill-based programmes for students in two highly in-demand courses — electronics and garment construction.

COTVET is a national body to coordinate and supervise technical and vocational education and training in Ghana. The orientation programme for the 12th batch of students, who were selected for training under this partnership, took place at BlueCrest campus in Kokomlemle on February 11, 2019.

The students who attended the orientation programme would be pursuing National Proficiency (NP-1) certificate programmes in garment construction and electronics. These students will get exceptional benefits from these courses because these programmes are fully-funded by GIZ in partnership with COTVET, Ghana Skills Development Initiative and Trade Association. GIZ is the short reference to the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, which is a German organisation that provides services for international development cooperation.

BlueCrest College is accredited by COTVET to offer these vocational and skill-based programmes. So far, the college has successfully trained more than 150 registered trade association members in garment construction and electronics.

The College also plans to introduce the National Proficiency (NP-2) for students who complete their NP-1 level of training.
