Akwaaba!

Akwaaba!

Akwaaba!

That’s what we say to welcome guests to our home and country! In our sweet local language Twi, it means “welcome”. Everyone is welcome to Ghana.

Ghana is a prominent education hub in the sub-Saharan region and is highly respected by its neighbours for welcoming students from all walks of life. On an average every year, students from over 25 different countries travel to Ghana to pursue their higher education. Among other disciplines, Ghanian teachers are known to be excellent in English language training among students from francophone countries. Additionally, it helps that Ghana is a peaceful and politically stable country with warm and welcoming people.

As a premier institution leading in the tertiary education sector, BlueCrest College proudly epitomises the spirit of Ghanian hospitality in our campus. We are sensitive to the adjustment needs of all our international students and realise that adjusting in a new country can be a confusing experience. The faculty and staff often go out of their way to help young international scholars settle in the new campus.

Every year, BlueCrest college accommodates students from at least 25 different nationalities. On an average at least 35% of them are Nigerian scholars, followed by students from Côte d’Ivoire (10%). We frequently have students from Liberia, Sierra Leone, Gabon, Chad, Niger, Equatorial Guinean, too.

There is an annual event at the campus where international students showcase the culture, traditions and food habits from their country with great pomp and show. This week-long celebration is organised by the college to promote greater integration among students and create a platform for young Ghanaians to learn about other cultures. This highly anticipated annual event is all about food fairs, art shows and cultural extravaganza.

The college is located in the heart of the city and very close to the Kotoka International Airport. For our Nigerian students, this location proves to be extremely convenient since the ABC transport or Chisco is found just a few meters away from campus.

We understand that settling down in a new environment can be demanding. Members of our staff and faculty are highly trained and sensitised to adjustment problems that a new student may face. Whether it is medical guidance or looking for an English training school, the help is always available on the campus. BlueCrest College also offers support with Visa and Non-Citizenship Card process for international scholars.
